Block Print
Exhibition
Carving a block print was an almost shell shocking experience for me. I've found that my base line art and flexibility that I use in other art projects did not work with the linoleum print. When working with my block print I've found that thinking in reverse when it comes to line art is a rather unique experience. After working on this piece my perception of line art and lines in general art has shifted. My piece represents my emotions and is a tribute to my mom, the origin of my ability to feel. My work is inspired by Margret Preston's floral block prints as well as my mom's tattoo. One's Creation is about how I can feel what I do because of my mom and is a tribute to her for raising me and helping me find myself through art and intense emotions.
